Delivery Policy – Sri Lanka

Cash on Delivery (COD)

For your convenience, Cash on Delivery (COD) is available. You may pay for your order at the time of delivery.

Delivery Time

Our standard delivery timeframe is 2–5 working days from the date of order confirmation.

While we aim to deliver within this timeframe, delivery times may occasionally vary due to factors outside our control such as courier delays, weather conditions, or other unforeseen circumstances.

 


 

International Shipping Policy

Shipping Charges

International shipping charges are calculated based on the total weight of the package and the destination country.

The final shipping cost will be calculated during checkout or communicated before order confirmation.

Order Processing

International orders are typically dispatched within 1–3 working days after order confirmation.

Delivery Time

International delivery times depend on the destination country and the postal or courier service used.

Typical delivery time ranges between 7 – 14 working days, but delivery may take longer due to customs processing, local postal services, holidays, or other external factors.

Please note that delivery timelines are not controlled by Katha.lk.

Tracking

When available, a tracking number and tracking link will be provided after shipment so customers can monitor the delivery status.

Customs Duties and Taxes

International shipments may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or other charges imposed by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the customer.

Delivery Delays

Katha.lk is not responsible for delays caused by postal services, courier companies, customs clearance, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Failed Delivery Attempts

If delivery fails due to reasons such as:

  • Recipient not available

  • Incorrect or incomplete address

  • Failure to collect the parcel from the local postal office

the parcel may be returned or held by the local postal service. Any redelivery or return shipping costs may be the responsibility of the customer.

 


 

International Shipping Disclaimer

Lost or Undelivered Packages

Once a package has been handed over to the postal or courier service, the shipment is under the control of the shipping carrier.

While we will assist in tracking and communicating with the carrier, Katha.lk cannot guarantee delivery and is not responsible for packages lost, delayed, or mishandled by third-party shipping providers.

Delivered but Not Received Claims

If the tracking status shows that the package has been successfully delivered to the provided address, Katha.lk cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen packages after delivery.

Customers are advised to contact their local postal service or courier provider for assistance in such situations.

 


 

Return & Exchange Policy

Refund Policy

Books sold by Katha.lk are not eligible for refunds once the sale has been completed.

Exchanges (Sri Lanka Orders Only)

Exchanges are only available for orders delivered within Sri Lanka.

Due to high international shipping costs and logistical limitations, international orders are not eligible for exchanges or returns.

Exchanges within Sri Lanka are possible only under the following conditions.

Wrong Item Delivered

If you receive a book that you did not order, we will exchange it for the correct item.

Damaged or Defective Books

If the book you receive is damaged or defective, we will exchange it for a new copy of the same title, subject to availability.

 


 

Exchange Request Procedure

To request an exchange:

  1. Contact our customer support team within 2 days of receiving your order.

  2. Provide your order number and details of the issue.

  3. Our support team will guide you through the exchange process.

This may include returning the incorrect or damaged item to us.
